"Good" vs "Well": Adjective or Adverb?
Good is an adjective; well is usually an adverb. Learn the rule, the health exception, and why "I feel good" vs "I feel well" both work.
लगभग हर कोई यह कहता है। “You speak good English.” “He plays guitar good.” “I did good on the test।”
यह natural लगता है। सब समझ लेते हैं। और फिर भी, standard English के rules के अनुसार, यह गलत है।
सही forms हैं: “You speak well.” “He plays guitar well.” “I did well on the test।“
Good = adjective → nouns को modify करता है (चीज़ों और लोगों को describe करता है) Well = adverb → verbs को modify करता है (actions को describe करता है)
She is a good singer. (noun “singer” को describe करता है)
He is a good student.
That was a good idea.
She is good at mathematics.
She sings well. (verb “sings” को describe करता है)
He plays cricket well.
They performed well in the exam.
She speaks English well.
“well” का एक special use है जिसका अर्थ है “स्वस्थ” (in good health):
I feel well. (मैं बीमार नहीं हूँ।)
She is well again after the surgery.
दोनों सही हैं, लेकिन अर्थ अलग है:
I feel good. = मैं खुश, संतुष्ट, या सामान्य रूप से ठीक महसूस करता हूँ।
I feel well. = मैं बीमार नहीं हूँ। मेरी सेहत अच्छी है।
Linking verbs (feel, look, smell, taste, sound) के बाद adjectives आते हैं क्योंकि वे subject को describe करते हैं, verb को नहीं:
The food tastes good. (food को describe करता है, tasting action को नहीं)
That sounds good.
She looks good in that dress.
It smells good.

परीक्षाओं में हमेशा standard rule इस्तेमाल करें। Casual speech में “good” का adverb के रूप में इस्तेमाल आम है।
